Dental X-rays and Tomography

What is Dental X-ray and Tomography?

Dental X-rays and tomography represent essential diagnostic methods used in dentistry for detailed evaluation of dental structure, jaw, and other areas of interest. X-rays are used to detect problems such as hidden cavities, infections, or fractures, while dental tomography (3D CT) provides a three-dimensional image of the entire oral cavity, essential for planning complex treatments such as dental implants.

At the Punto Bianco dental clinic in Chișinău, Moldova, patients benefit from X-rays and tomography directly in the clinic, without the need for referral to external centers. With the help of our own state-of-the-art equipment, we offer patients a competitive price and, for certain dental procedures, these imaging investigations are free. Dental tomography is essential for treatments such as dental implants and other surgical procedures, ensuring high precision in diagnosis and planning.

Types of Dental X-rays and Tomography

What types of radiological investigations do we perform in Chișinău?

Retroalveolar (periapical) X-ray

This provides detailed images of individual teeth and surrounding tissues, including roots and alveolar bone. It is ideal for identifying cavities, infections, and evaluating endodontic treatments.

Panoramic X-ray (orthopantomogram)

This type of X-ray presents a complete image of the jaws, teeth, temporomandibular joints, and sinuses. It is used in planning dental implants and orthodontics, as well as for general evaluation of oral health.

Dental tomography (3D CT)

Dental computed tomography provides a detailed three-dimensional image of bone and dental structures. This is essential for proper placement of dental implants, diagnosing fractures, and planning complex surgical procedures. It offers a much clearer perspective than standard X-rays.

Teleradiography (Cephalometry)

This is a lateral X-ray of the head and is used mainly in orthodontics to evaluate the relationship between the maxilla and mandible, as well as the position of teeth in relation to the skull. It is very useful in planning complex orthodontic treatments, including for patients with malocclusions.

All these investigations are available at the Punto Bianco dental clinic in Chișinău, Moldova, providing patients with accurate diagnosis and rigorous treatment planning.
