Problema

The patient, originally from Romania and settled in Canada, chose to come to Moldova following the recommendation of a couple who were satisfied with the results obtained at Punto Bianco. At the time of presentation, her dental condition was complex: she was wearing an old metal-ceramic restoration that was deteriorated and unaesthetic, while the remaining teeth were affected by periodontal disease and mobility. In addition, severe bone atrophy was identified in the upper jaw, significantly complicating treatment options.

Soluția

In this complex case, the treatment was performed under general anesthesia, using a combination of conventional, pterygoid, zygomatic, and one short implant in the lower left area, adapted to the available bone. Some patients may wonder why implants were placed in areas without visible teeth. Their role is to stabilize the entire structure—especially the zygomatic implants—and to provide additional support for the definitive restoration, ensuring long-term strength and durability.

Durata

The first stage lasted 9 days, as it included not only the surgical intervention but also thorough preparation: blood tests, imaging investigations, consultation with the anesthesiologist, and detailed planning of the special implants. After the integration period, the second stage lasted 11 days—slightly longer than usual—to allow the final restoration to be reinforced with a supporting bar and to ensure optimal long-term resistance.

Problema

Severely affected dental condition, with destroyed and decayed teeth covered by old, non-functional restorations, gingival inflammation and active infections, missing teeth and extended edentulous spaces, chewing difficulties, and constant discomfort.

Soluția

Irreparable teeth were extracted and old restorations removed. All-on-6 implants were placed in the upper jaw and All-on-5 in the mandible. The intervention was performed under controlled conditions, under general anesthesia. Fixed provisional restorations were applied, followed later by definitive zirconia restorations supported by implants. The final works were stabilized through abutments and precise occlusal adjustments.

Durata

– 3 days for consultations, investigations, blood tests, and planning
– 4.5 hours under general anesthesia: removal of old restorations, extractions, implant placement in both jaws, and impressions
– 10 days for the entire first stage, although currently these procedures can be completed in a much shorter timeframe

Problema

The patient from France presented with an extremely complex case: failed monoblock implants connected prosthetically to natural teeth, bone loss, and old compromised restorations. Although attempts were made to save some teeth, they could no longer be preserved due to extensive destruction, posts, and aggressive previous preparations.

Soluția

Under general anesthesia, difficult extractions of the failed implants and compromised teeth were performed, followed by the placement of traditional and special dental implants. In the final stage, the patient benefited from a premium fixed rehabilitation: an aesthetic zirconia restoration with individual crowns on a bar.

Durata

Considering the complexity of the case, the patient reserved 14 days for the first stage and another 14 days for the final stage. As a clinic organized for dental tourism, we planned the treatment so that the stay in Moldova was efficient yet comfortable, with time for relaxation, excursions, and shopping.

Problema

Complete absence of teeth on both jaws, uncomfortable removable dentures

Soluția

Two fixed provisional prostheses secured on 6 conventional implants in the lower jaw, and in the upper jaw on 4 conventional implants and 2 pterygoid implants (the last ones on the right and left, angled).

The photograph was taken 3 days after the dental implant insertion procedure, which is why slight postoperative bruising can still be observed, a normal reaction at this stage of healing.

Durata

3 days from implant insertion to the fixation of the provisional prostheses.

Problema

Extreme fear of dental treatment and, as a result, lack of timely dental care led the patient to this condition. At the time of presentation at the Punto Bianco clinic in Chișinău, the patient could no longer eat, smile, or socialize.

Soluția

General anesthesia was an absolute necessity for two reasons: severe dental phobia and the need to use zygomatic implants. During a single “in sleep” procedure, the remaining teeth were extracted and several types of implants were placed — conventional, zygomatic, and short — to support two temporary fixed prostheses. For the final restoration, aesthetic zirconia bridges were chosen.

Durata

2 days after surgery – the first set of temporary fixed teeth (10 days – the entire stage / first trip from Italy to Moldova).
6 months – completion of the entire treatment, from extractions to final fixed zirconia teeth.

Problema

Missing teeth, decayed and damaged teeth, periodontal disease causing tooth mobility, yellowed and stained teeth, old metal crowns.

Soluția

Extraction of all teeth and installation of classic and transsinusal (longer) dental implants to avoid bone augmentation. A total of 12 implants were installed and 2 temporary fixed dentures were made, and after the implants were integrated, 2 permanent bridges were made.

Problema

The old and uncomfortable removable denture, which no longer stayed in place without large amounts of adhesive. The patient could no longer taste her food and lived in fear that the denture might fall out while she was laughing or talking. Severe bone atrophy on the upper jaw and several missing teeth on the lower jaw.

Soluția

All-on-X fixed denture using the Quad Zygoma technique (4 zygomatic implants). The X-ray also shows a classic implant in the frontal area, used for better stabilization of the bridge. On the lower jaw, the missing teeth were replaced with traditional implants and zirconium crowns, and the natural teeth were whitened. Two aesthetic composite restorations were also performed.

11 months – all stages of rehabilitation

Problema

Almost all teeth missing and atrophy of the upper jawbone. The few remaining teeth were loose and severely infected.

Soluția

We opted to extract all remaining teeth/roots and create two fixed prostheses on All-on-X dental implants. On the upper jaw, to avoid costly and invasive bone augmentation, a hybrid All-on-6 technique was used (4 classic implants in the front area and 2 pterygoid implants in the back areas (on the X-ray, they are the ones that are “more horizontal”).

Problema

Old, unsightly dental bridge that barely held onto broken teeth and uncomfortable dentures. Severe bone atrophy in the upper jaw. Pain when chewing.

Soluția

4 zygomatic implants + 1 classic implant on the upper jaw and 5 classic implants on the lower jaw supporting 2 fixed bridges of 12 teeth each. Treatment performed under general anesthesia.

Durata

8 months (the patient received temporary fixed dentures on zygomatic implants starting on the 5th day after surgery)
